Tillman 4-2 was designed during ww1 as part of American senitor Tillmans proposal to push the navy into designing the largest battleship which could fit through the panama canal, and which was the largest they could feasibly build. There followed a series of designs which all sat above 60,000 tonnes, and most at 80,000 tonnes, with varying degrees of specifications, but which all came in at 297m long, 33m wide and sat 10m deep. However eventually tillman 4-2 was produced as the last superbattleship design with 10- 18 inch guns, 80,0000 tonnes and armour which ranged between 120 mm – 450mm. For this model I used the original design and some imagination on how I thought it would look had it been taken to the detailed design stage.
