Uss Arizona

Uss Arizona was an American battleship of the Pensylvania class laid down in March 1914 and launched in June 1915, with her completion and commission in October 1916. She would arrive in time for Americas entry into WW1 but would see no action, though would be part of Wilsons escort to the December 1918 peace conference in brest. During the interwar period she wad modernised at least two times with her last refit in the 1930’s finally totalling torpedo bulges, a completely new superstructure and the removal of her torpedo tubes amongst other things. She would be in Pearl Harbour on December the 7th when the Japanese attacked the harbor, and would be one of the main source of casaulties when a bomb penetrated the fore armoured deck and into the fore magazines causing a detonation to occur, thus totalling the ship. Out of a compliment of 1304, 1177 would go down with the ship. Once the attack was over and the harbour cleared she was converted into a memorial site, where she remains to this day.
