Type II Uboats were a mainly coastal submarine designed and built for the Kriegsmarine between the early 1930’s and midd 1940’s., with a few varients from A – D with differing tonnages from a surfaced tonnage of 250, to a tonnage of 314 on the D varient. These were primarily used for training and re-establishing the German U-boat arm of the navy in its build up to ww2.
