The HNOMS Norge is the first replica warship I ever produced back in early January 2020, and was a great milestone in my life as it gave me the confidence to make replica ships.
She was launched on March 1900 and would come into service a year later. During her liftime as a coastal defence ship she would patrol the coast of Norway. In 1910 she would carry the Coffin of Norwegian writer, and nobel prize winner Bjørnstjerne Martinius Bjørnson, from France back to Norway. Her first and final battle was in April 1940 when German destroyers entered Narvik and sunk both the Eidsvold and Norge by torpedoing them. Norge being the only one of the 2 able to return fire, but sadly wasn’t enough to save her.
