HMS Revenge 1915

HMS Revenge is a Revenge class battleship of the Royal navy and completed in 1915 during ww1.The ship was designed as a follow up to the Queen Elizabeth class battleships,carrying the same main armament,but with a reduction in speed and size to reduce the overall cost of the ships.Revenge was active during the battle of Jutland as part of the Royal Navies Grand Fleet,enguaging 2 German battlecruisers.She managed to come out of the battle mostly undamaged and would later serve a peaceful service until the end of the war. During ww2 she conducted operation medium with the intention of destroying as many German transports which was carried out at night and with escorts under cover of RAF bombing,which helped divert attention and allow the operation to be sucessful. She would later serve in convoy escort roles, with the last mission being to carry Churchill to the Tehran convention. In 1948 she was finally broken up for scrap.
