This model is a depiction of the German heavy cruiser Graff Spee of the Deutschland class heavy cruiser, launched in 1936 with a displacement of approximately 10,000 tonnes, and 6 11 inch guns. The ship would ultimately be scuttled after the battle of the River Plate, in Montevideo Uruguay in December 1939.
